Waterscape at kollam ...Resources to be preserved.

Kollam town in kerala has lots of water body around it. The city has still not explored the tourism aspect though its only matter of time before this sets in.... Specially monsoon and post-monsoon are really good.

I was at kollam for 2 weeks this month. Here are few shots taken from kollam covering the Beach and the Ashtamudi lake.

The below shot is taken from the adventure park from kollam. I have known this place from childhood. We used to visit the park very often. The park has really improved a lots and its attracting more and more people now. Few of the park feature are just the same which gives a real nostalgic feeling whenever we go there.
Sunset at Adventure park

The next is a panoramic shot of the Arabian sea , shot from kollam harbor. The harbor at kollam has really changes the beach topography. I really noticed this aspect during this visit.

The next is another panoramic shot of the Ashtamudi Lake near Perumon area.

The below shot is take during the boat ride. The city still has decent water transport connectivity and i see that this is really useful for few interior pockets. Though mostly all the areas have road connectivity, the road might take longer while the boat might just cross over the bank to reach faster.

This is just a small collection to stress the importance of water. Though there are so much water around the city, this is not drinkable at present as its salty!! This year i heard about water shortage concerns from different people at kollam itself.
Every one of us should take it up seriously to preserve and refill the water resource available at the nature for a better feature!!!

Spotted Deer and its co-existance!!!

This is a small write-up on wildlife co-existence focusing on the Spotted Deer.

Spotted Deer are one of the most beautiful animals which is found very very common in the national parks around South India.
One of the most common sighting in these national parks is the spotted deer with the myna bird. Myna helps Deer to keep them clean and free from insects. Myna in-turn benefits to find food very easily.

There is another interesting story around the Deer.
The Grey Langur
They provide relentless service to these Spotted Deer. Langur are always on the watch and they intimate the Deer of any threat.

Again the question arise, is the Langur intimating the deer OR intimating their own group of other Langur. If so, then the Deer is smart to learn from the Langur.

Its the nature design of CO-EXISTANCE!!!!
